Storing those veggies!
Now that we’ve started our vegetable harvest we always want to take proper storage methods to retain the vegetables taste, freshness and nutrients. Here will share with you how we do that. If you have other ideas or suggestions please leave a comment. We are always open to learning ways we may have not known about.
We store these vegetables in a cool dark place away from sun light.
- onions
- potatoes
- sweet potatoes
- winter squash
We keep these vegetables in the refrigerator.
- asparagus
- beans
- beets
- broccoli
- cabbage
- carrots
- cauliflower
- celery
- corn
- cucumbers
- eggplant
- leafy greens like- lettuce, kale, bok choy and spinach
- leeks
- parsnips
- peas if shelled
- radishes
- scallions
- turnips
- zucchini
We keep these vegetables at room temperature.
- peppers
- tomatoes

Peppers and Tomatoes go in my fridge and I take them out to warm up to room temps if I plan on making a meal with them. During the summer its too hot where I live to do other wise. heh.
That's a great idea Heather. I understand if it's warmer that would make better sense than to let it spoil because of the heat. ;)
