AJ was in amazement and he couldn’t stop saying “Wow! is this the same bathroom?!” He knew everyone else would be extremely surprised! I couldn’t agree with him more, I gladly reminded him that he helped me and we accomplished this together! Way to go to my kid brother who was just 12 at the time for helping his big sis in what was suppose to be just a new coat of paint that turned out to be quite a little more than that. LOL!

After all the moving- stuff still in boxes to be unpacked, lot’s of other painting and repairs needing to be done. I loved the feeling of this new space and it was wonderful to have one part of our house feeling nice, clean, refreshing and like a home, not just a house that needed some TLC!

When everyone else arrived back home they were all in awe and thought it was a beautiful change.

Now we have one more full bath make over to go, 2 more full baths and a powder room to design and build!! I know what you’re thinking – We’ve got our work cut out for us don’t we? haha. Of course please keep in mind these are future projects that await along with many others! But who doesn’t enjoy a DIY home remodel project right?

Now with out further ado-

After all our hard work this is what we came up with!

Thank you Shasta for the nice comment! I love how the mirror ended up turning out- It was one of those "picture it in my mind and hope it turns out like I had imagined ideas". haha... You know the shower curtain was actually my key piece. I wanted to find the perfect shower curtain and then from there I built around it to make the room complete. :)

Your bathroom looks great! I used the same fabric for a headboard bench as you used on the your little bench. Love it! Thanks so much for linking up to the All Star Block Party!

I found your post and blog through visiting a linky party at The Shabby Nest. Your bathroom has the same configuration as mine, except my vanity is longer, probably long enough to squeeze in 2 small sinks but it only has one in the center. I swapped out a builder's standard huge plate glass mirror above that long vanity for a framed one. I had looked into buying one of those custom-made frames you can order online -- but it was soooo pricey! In the end, I got a framed mirror for like $50 at Menards and it serves me well (even though it's plastic painted to look like antiqued wood) but if I had seen your decorative treatment THEN instead of now, it may have been a different story. Love the mirror, it is a lovely touch to a beautiful room and echoes your theme so perfectly!. I can just feel the care and love radiating out of that room. Maybe a funny thing to say, just staring at some pictures at your blog, but it's true, nonetheless. You and your little bro did an awesome job!

    • June 26, 2012  9:26 am by Erika

Awww... Thanks Jan! Comments like yours really make a person feel good. You know you're right we did put a lot of care and love into the room. It was a lot of work and my little brother did a great job helping, without him I couldn't have done it! He knew how to do things that I didn't! haha...and he of course learned something from his big sis too! ;) I appreciate your comment, please visit again! I'm glad you were able to find a mirror that worked for you and hey you never know...when that time comes again to do a facelift or redo to a room with a mirror you could maybe still do this? :)
