1. Go on at least one road trip!
Done. – One road trip taken so far to Blowing Rock, NC.
The kids are always excited to go on a road trip!
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South and it was a beautiful hotel with nice staff, a very clean comfortable room, tasty full continental breakfast and a pool for the kids!
We ate the Magical Mystery and it was delicious! This place has much more than the typical pizza joint! This was our first time ever eating at a Mellow Mushroom if you live near one then you know it’s good if you happen to come across one and have never tried it then we highly recommend it!
We enjoyed some shopping at a health food store that we’d never been to – Earth Fare
They have a great selection and it would be nice if we had one close to home!
2. Eat a new kind of food/cuisine we have never eaten before.
Done. – We went to a wonderful Haitian/Ethiopian restaurant in KC for lunch to celebrate Dad and Moms 3oth wedding anniversary and the food was amazing and the owner/chef was wonderful. It truly was a great experience!
A haitian meal – Goat Meat
Haitian Blackend Red Snapper
A dessert on the house for my parents celebrating their 30th!
5. Go to a concert.
Done. Just the adults went and saw Ted Nugent, Styx, Reo Speedwagon concert.
Me and Mom on our way to the concert!
Ted starting off the show!
Mom and Dad (Dad hadn’t seen REO in over 20 years! and they hadn’t seen Styx in about 10)
The hubby and I enjoying ourselves!
It was an awesome night and a great concert with some good ole rock n roll!
11. Drink fresh homemade lemonade. 12. Have a picnic! 14. Go somewhere new and learn something new while we’re there.
Done. We’ve done a few things so far and I will post about them soon!
